Our Willow Hill white wine is made up of specially selected bunches of the Classic Chardonnay grape variety. This grape produces very good flavours, weight of fruit and overall consistent quality and it of no surprise that Chardonnay is the preferred grape variety for many of the famous white wines through the ages. Our winemaker selects sone of the finest, hand harvested, Chardonnay grapes to produce this special reserve wine under our Willow Hill label. The Chardonnay grapes are harvested early in the morning while they are still cool. This Chardonnay is in its purest form, unoaked and allowed to express itself as the classic grape it is. The result is a full-bodied wine with aromas of rich tropical fruit. The palate is lively and round with fresh apple, citrus and pear flavours in abundance, giving a crisp medium finish. Great all-round wine, superb on its own or perfect with creamy pasta dishes. Serve well chilled as an aperitif. Enjoy.
Our Willow Hill red is made up of specially selected bunches of the Classic Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. These two grapes produce consistently good colour, flavours and quality and are the cornerstone of many fine red. The Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are harvested at optimum conditions and undergo a temperature-controlled fermentation to preserve the pure fruit character. The wine spends some time on its lees to add complexity and character to the final blend. The result is a medium to full bodied wine with aromas of blackberries, chocolate, and spice. The palate is medium to full ripe soft tannins, autumnal fruit, cassis, and gentle spiciness. This is a great all-round wine, superb on its own, lovely with chocolate and a great match for traditional roasts, tomato dishes and steak. Enjoy!
